Ever wonder how to move an orchestra? In a word - carefully. BBC News followed the musicians and crew of the BBC Symphony as they packed up and moved to the Royal Albert Hall in preparation for the first concert of the 2010 BBC Proms scheduled for later tonight. Video available here.
Begun in 1895, the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts is one of the world's best known summer music festivals and takes place at London's historic Royal Albert Hall. The "Last Night of the Proms" has become something of a tradition amongst lovers of classical music in Britain and throughout the world. (Conductor Jiří Bělohlávek and soprano Rene Fleming will be among the highlights at this year's "Last Night of the Proms" on 11 September.) The 2010 Proms will feature 50 orchestras performing over 59 days. You can find a complete schedule of concerts here.
